Lip filler, like other dermal fillers, are gels made up of synthetic Hyaluronic Acid (HA) that are injected directly into the lips to create volume. HA are a naturally occurring protein that attracts water thus helping it occupy large volume relative to its mass. Some fillers contain pre-mixed local anaesthesia to make the treatment process as comfortable as possible. The lip enhancement process is variable depending on the original size of lips and can take more than one visit to obtain the desired lip size.
